We exist to be a people fully alive in God’s Kingdom … and we long to share that life with those living around us.

We strive to be a blessing to our neighbors in any way we can – through neighborhood clean-up and recycling events; by hosting concerts and cultural events for families; and perhaps most notably, by supporting our neighborhood schools.

We’ve formed partnerships with three of our neighbor schools:

Trailwood Elementary
(just east of Nall on 95th St)

John Diemer Elementary
(south of 95th Street on Lamar)

Rushton Elementary
(east of Lamar on 52nd St)

If you’d like to get involved with serving at one of these schools, there are three easy ways to get involved:

  1. Volunteer at an event – Throughout the year, schools will ask for our help at special events like their Carnival, book fair, etc. By getting outside help, parents are able to have a break and can spend time attending these events with their kids. You can sign up below for upcoming events, or CLICK HERE to get email notifications when events happen.
  2. Help in the lunchroom – Most schools are understaffed during lunch time and welcome the extra help! You’ll get to do everything from help kids open their Lunchable, to washing tables … all the while being a helpful presence. No training is required. Simply contact Michael Carter, missionsccop@gmail.com, to learn more.
  3. Be an MVP (mentor)The MVP program invites adults to come into the schools on a regular basis to work with kids. In as little as 30 minutes a week, you could be a lunch buddy for a kid who needs a friend, help tutor someone in math or reading, or work with a group on a special project. Learn more here or contact Michael Carter, missionsccop@gmail.com, if you have any questions.
