Just about any time you walk in the door at Christ Church, you can expect to find a true community; people who are genuinely happy to meet and get to know each other.
You will find this to be true whether you join us at a concert and art show, an Alpha Parking Lot Party, or a Sunday worship service. It is our hope that you will feel comfortable here whether you’ve been in church for 10 minutes or 10 years.
Below is a snapshot of what you can expect to experience on a Sunday. To learn more about our vision, CLICK HERE.
That main thing that is helpful to know about our Sunday Services is that we have two congregations!
- One meets in a church building in the heart of Overland Park. If you attend on a Sunday morning, you’ll see that we have three services in this location: a traditional 8:30am service in the Nave (on the east end of the building), a contemporary service at 9am in our Disciples’ Center (a multi-purpose room found on the west end of the building), and a contemporary service at 10:45am in the Nave (on the east end of the building). - Our other congregation meets at the Sylvester Powell Community Center in the heart of Mission. Having only one service at this location, there is ample time for conversation before the service. Our café opens at 9am serving free drip coffee and various espresso drinks; the worship service begins at 9:30am. When you arrive, simply follow the signs to the north side of the building.
