KEYNOTE SPEAKER DR. DOUG BURFORD
Dr. Doug Burford is an ordained minister and a licensed clinical professional counselor (Kansas). After pastoring four churches, including locally the Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church and ServantChurch, Doug’s ministry is now as a professional counselor, specializing in couples therapy. He relies heavily upon the research findings of Dr. John Gottman and The Gottman Institute, as well as Attachment Theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
He is a graduate of Kansas State University (BSW), Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv), MidAmerica Nazarene University (MAC), and Talbot School of Theology (DMin). But most of what he knows about what makes marriage work he credits to his wife of 40+ years, Claudia, who he says has always practiced from pure love what the books try to teach the rest of us. Doug and Claudia have three adult children, six grandchildren, incalculable blessings, and enough challenges to remain humbled by God’s grace and dependent upon prayer.
